Setup Oddcast V3 on WinAmp 5.x

The following steps will take you through the setup for Oddcast on WinAmp and we'll soon have you streaming to an Icecast server.

You'll need to download WinAmp at http://www.winamp.com/player - all you need is the Free Player.

Next Download Oddcast Version 3. You can find it at http://www.oddsock.org/tools/oddcastv3/ (make sure you get the latest version for WinAmp)
1. Install WinAmp with all the defaults
2. Install Oddcast.
3. Open WinAmp and click on Options, and then Preferences:


4. Locate the Plugins, DSP/Effect section and select the line that says "oddcast DSP v3 [dsp_oddcast_v3.dll]" and then click "Close":
5.  You will now see a box on your screen titled "OddcastV3".  Click "Add Encoder" to add the Vorbis encoder.  Then Right-Click on the Vorbis encoder and choose Configure:

6.  On the "Basic Settings" tab, enter settings as follows in the image.  Remember to replace the password and mount point name with those given to you by the administrator:
7.  On the "YP Settings tab, enter your information as follows.  Enter your "Stream URL" as "http://aurora.serenity-irc.net:8000/<mountpointname>.ogg" (without the "'s):
8.  On the "Advanced Settings" tab, no changes are necessary.  You can use this section to save an archive of your stream for playback later.  You can also change the location of the logs, however this is unnecessary.  Click on "Okay":
9.  Lastly, click on "Connect" and start playing your stream.  The "AutoConnect" setting is not recommended unless you are streaming 24/7.
9.  Click on the Button under "Live Recording".  Leave the audio device unchanged.  Click on the pull-down menu and choose "Microphone".  Adjust the level appropriately:
