Setup Oddcast V2 on WinAmp 5.x

The following steps will take you through the setup for Oddcast on WinAmp and we'll soon have you streaming to an Icecast server.

You'll need to download WinAmp at http://www.winamp.com/player - all you need is the Free Player.

Next Download Oddcast Ver 2 (There are currently problems with Version 3 and streaming to Icecast. You can find it at http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/136998

1. Install WinAmp with all the defaults
2. Install Oddcast.  During the install, you will be directed to 2 separate webpages for Windows Media and Lame encoders - These pages will fail, but you can safe ignore this, as we will be using Ogg.
3. Open WinAmp and click on Options, and then Preferences:


4. Locate the Plugins, DSP/Effect section and select the line that says "oddcast DSP v2 [dsp_sps.dll]" and then click "Close":
5.  You will now see a box on your screen titled "Oddcast DSP".  Click "Config":

6.  On the "General Tab", change the "Encoder Type" to "Ogg" - leave all others at the default:
7.  Click on the "Encode" tab, and then select the "Ogg/Vorbis" sub-tab.  Select "Quality" and enter "3":
8.  Next, select the "Server" tab, and enter all information according as you see below.  The server name will change, according the server you are connecting to:
9.  Lastly, click on "Connect" and start playing your stream.  The VU On/Off just enables and disables the display of the VU meter on the plugin screen.   Have Fun!
